Ultra Filter Membrane

Function of UF membrane :

A type of advanced filtration technology called ultrafiltration (UF) membranes is widely used to remove bacteria, colloids, and suspended particles from wastewater. This process produces effective and reliable purification since it is based on particle size and molecular weight.
 

The pore size of UF membrane :

pore sizes ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 microns, enabling them to effectively remove contaminants with molecular weights above 10–100 kDa (kilodaltons). These include bacteria, viruses, and fine suspended particles, while allowing water, dissolved salts, and small molecules to pass through.

The materials of ultra-filter membrane have PAN, PVC, PE, PVDF as typical, most common is PVDF material because of its advantages in anti-fouling, mechanical strength, chemical stability, resistance to oxidation, lifetime, and applications.

Regarding the ultra-filter membrane made of PVC:

Pressurized UF membrane modules from the PVC series use long-lasting imported PVC raw materials with a 0.01 micron filtering precision. PVC may be manufactured into thicker hollow fibers and withstand high working pressure because of its high stiffness, making it suitable for inside-out working mode. For raw water with low turbidity and SS, an inside-out construction is appropriate. When inside-out membrane modules function, impurities are rejected inside easily washable hollow fibers without dead angles.

PVDF hollow fiber membranes exhibit excellent flux and hydrophilicity. The components use an external pressure structure and can function in dead-end or cross-flow modes. They are suitable for high-quality water treatment applications such as drinking water treatment, industrial zero discharge, and seawater desalination.
